Gouf Stutzer - Zeon Remnant

The Stutzer concept is one of desperate innovation. With limited resources the Remnants have dedicated themselves to victory and the modifications of existing weapons platforms is really their only option. Salvage and field modification were the main inspiration for this radical design. A few months ago I introduced this idea on a blog entitled “The Remnants” at which time Ninjascience and I began a dialog fleshing out this concept. It was also highly inspired by the RX-121-2 Gundam TR-1 [Hazel Owsla] with Gigantic Arm Unit and may be viewed as the response to intelligence of it’s proposed deployment.

The predominant feature of this Stutzer is the Crescent Mount on the right shoulder. This universal mount can house any platform weapon with the appropriate coupler, in this case the salvaged right arm of the MSN-02 Zeong piloted by Char Aznable at the Battle of A Bao A Qu. This particular relic has been dubbed “The Hand of Zeon”.

As a space variant of the Gouf extra verniers and propellant/coolant are necessary and aid in handling the extra mass of this design.

null

Modelers Note: The mount is scratch built of styrene and the core is Gundam Adapt’s Zaku with augmentation bits from Gundam Ultimate Operation’s Gouf Custom.

null

Modelers Note: The Vernier design on the shoulder armor is derived from the Gelub of Kazuhisa Kondo’s “Operation Buran U.C.0079″

null

Modelers Note: The Zeong arm is a composite semi-scratch build. Getting the accurate scale was important to me while still acheiving an intimidating appearance.

Both of the Gouf’s forearms include the magnetic grappler of the MS-07B-3 Gouf Custom. The forearm allows the storage of a length of heat wire and in the case of weapons jetison or destruction provides attacks similar to other Stutzers.

null

“The Hand of Zeon” is still fully functional and the psycommu system requires a Newtype pilot to effectively use its remote-controlled, wire-connected forearm.

null

The mount allows for the retraction of weapon systems.

On this Gouf the 3-barrel 35mm machine gun, clip-fed, mount on left forearm has been removed. The Gatling shield with 75mm drum-and-belt fed modified Zero-Atmosphere Gatling gun supports short to medium range combat while the Type D III battery powered heat saber stored in the Gatling shield, hand-carried in use, serves as an effecient wire cutter when needed.

Configuration option.

The 680mm Artillery Cannon which folds for transport was originally designed for the YMS-16M Xamel. The Crescent Mount accomodates this now modified Zero-Atmosphere Anti-Fleet weapon providing mission flexibility, a crucial feature for The Remnants success.

null

Modelers Note: The Xamel 680mm Artillery Cannon is from the MSIA series.

Firing position.

null

The angle of firing is determined by the Crescent Mount not the Xamel 680mm Artillery Cannon recoil damping mechanism mount.

Modelers Note: This is the second build completed in my Remnant series.

One Response to “Gouf Stutzer - Zeon Remnant”

With the artillery cannon, that Gouf’s a beast. The recoil must blast it back a fair ways.
