A Guide to the Hazels by Bazookafied

As of October of 2006, Bandai now has 3 Hazel-based Mobile Suits in the HGUC lineup. Between these 3 kits, there are some things that buyers or potential buyers may want to know. I’ve decided to complie information regarding these 3 kits and their compatability. You can use this information however you want, as it is here as a reference and guide.

Similarities: It is important to note that all 3 HGUC Hazel kits are based off of the same base. The parts are interchangeable between the kits. It is important to note that the pieces within these parts can be changed too. Below is a list of the basic MS part and what they are interchangeable with:

The Base kit is the Hazel Custom.

Head: The Advanced Hazel’s visor, the back part of the head on the Hazel II, and the Hazel II’s crest can all be used on the original base part.

Torso: The Hazel II’s cockpit armor and hatch can be switched. The multi-purpose launchers are also interchangeable.

Skirt Armor: all 4 sides of the Hazel II’s armor can be switched. For example, the front skirt armor on the Hazel II can fit with the Hazel Custom’s weapon latch piece.

Arms: The arms are identical on all 3 kits. They can be switched for colors and they can all equip the same shield attachment and hand sets.

Hands: The Hand sets are all identical. The Advanced Hazel comes with two fist hands for the Hazel Custom and the white plates that cover those hands can be switched with the Titans Blue plates of the Advanced Hazel or the Hazel II’s.

Backpack: The backpack booster pod can be switched to the double latch off of the Advanced Hazel. The backpack itself can be switched with the Tri-Booster Backpack from the Hazel II

Legs: The legs can be switched from the Hazel II. The Foot armor can be switched to the Hazel II’s. The Advanced Hazel’s Foot additions can fit onto the Hazel Custom and Hazel II’s feet.

Weapons: The Hazel’s rifle can be switched to the Hazel II’s GM Rifle. The Beam swords are all identical. The Shields on either of the other two hazels can be latched on to the sheild connection or can be put on the normal booster pod. Additionally, the Powered GM’s shield can also latch onto the sheild connection.

Between all of that compatability, theres plenty of variations you can make. You could make variations from the series like the Original RX-121 Hazel, or you could make a new one up. With the Hazel Customalso being the only white kit, you can also have some color variation (if you’re not into painting) between the kits as well.
