MS-14A Gelgoog - Zeon Remnant

by Chaosdoc

This Zeon Remnant is a no frills Gelgoog. Just an OG, or OOG, hah!

The core is comprised of Gundam UO Gelgoog Cannon, HMS Gundam Gelgoog, and a Banpresto Mobile Suit Gelgoog of about the same scale.

The head is a composite piece of molded parts, bitz, and styrene.

The Zulu Shield is a near scratch piece with some molded details added. It’s core is styrene, I used wood filler instead of any putty and a coat of Zap CA super thin cyanocrylate (super) glue to change the surface texture. I find the wood filler much easier to work with, it’s cheaper and the trick of applying a “super glue” finish( my own innovation) is a great combination.

You may notice on the Thruster and Maneuvering Pack a small extension and lip, this is for stowing the Zulu Shield. The handle grip rotates and slides right in but I chose later to have it in the hand instead of stowing it.

The Beam Bazooka mounted on the rear of the Armor Skirt is removable. It is from a Bandai Char Aznable Gashapon mecha series, a Rick Dom. It has been modified slightly to be more symetrical from the handle grip.

Good look inside of the Zulu Shield.

The Gelgoog Beam Rifle is the older version from the Banpresto Gelgoog.

I really like this particular angle.

Every joint in this build has articulation. I never get rid of any old mecha, the joints are always salvaged and the rest separated into my bitz bins. Can you see the rotating handle grip inside the Zulu Shield?

It’s hard to tell but the knee joints actually have the double articulation of the Extendend MSIA series.

Gotcha!

Fantastic work again! I love the use of the Beam Bazooka! For some reason, a Gelgoog with a Beam bazooka just looks awesome to me! I've considered picking up the HGUC Dom set just to get a Beam bazooka for my Gelgoog! Nice paint job, though one of your scratches on the armor looks a bit big. (on the right leg near the Zeon Emblem). Maybe its just me, but it just seems like a big chunk of silver instead of a scratch.

Yeah 'Zook I repainted that spot after I took the pics. It just didn't seem to work. I should have dug that spot out of the plastic then painted it silver to look like a big strike. Good catch. I agree about the Beam Bazooka too.
