Profile

The “Hazel Owsla” is a version of the Hazel equipped with the “Primrose” emergency escape pod. The Primrose was developed in order to increase the survival and recovery rates of the pilot and the mobile suit data without reducing the Hazel’s performance, but because the Primrose replaces almost the entire chest and torso, this version is called the Hazel Owsla to distinguish it from the normal one. Since the Primrose was designed for high extensibility, the Hazel Owsla can support even more optional weapons and extra equipment functions, and can use various options to adapt to different combat situations.

Technical Notes

Like the Primrose, the Hazel Owsla can be equipped with a wide variety of backpacks and optional weapons, including a sub arm unit, the optical sensor unit and leg enhancement parts of the Advanced Hazel, the tri booster unit of the Hazel II, or the multi connector pod and shield boosters of the Advanced Hazel. Most configurations of the Hazel Owsla carry a long blade rifle, and this machine can also use the Primrose’s mega particle cannons and missile pods as built-in weapons. Most Hazel Owsla configurations use the same compact shoulder armor as the Hazel Custom Sniper Type. The white paint job seen in some of the artwork may indicate that this is a brand new suit fresh off the assembly line. Most likely the Titans planned to mass-produce the Hazel Owsla, as it was labeled “Next Generation Mass Productive Prototype MS“. The equipment loadout comes in several flavors. “Type 2 armament” includes the Advanced Hazel’s twin shield booster pod and two missile pod binders. “Type 3 armament” comes with the Hazel II’s tri-booster and two beam cannons. “Type 4 armament” has a Hazel Custom backpack with a Hrdudu attached to it. I guess, by a process of elimination, the standard configuration with one beam cannon and one missile pod binder must be the “Type 1 armament.”
