Profile
The Icarus Unit is an equipment option for the Hazel Custom based on the concept of unassisted mobile suit flight under gravity. Lacking the ability to transform from mobile suit form to flight form like the TR-3, this revolutionary system achieves flight through brute force, thanks to the high thrust produced by the powerful thermonuclear jet engines attached to its lower body and the thermonuclear rocket engines in its shoulders.
Technical Notes
The Icarus Unit’s shoulder parts can swivel forward 90 degrees for storage inside the Gaplant TR-5 Fiver, and they have option latches for attaching weapons, shields, or sub arm units. The winglike devices in the shoulder parts function as attitude stabilizers during flight. The waist parts contain a supplemental generator similar to that used in the Hazel Custom’s movable booster pod, albeit somewhat larger.
