YMS-14J ReGelg Prototype with Stutzer Mega Particle Cannon Test Unit - Zeon Remnant - Build Series

by Chaosdoc

This build was an evolution during the process. I only knew at the beginning that I wanted to make a Gelgoog Stutzer with the Stutzer design configuration similar to that of the Zaku Stutzer’s equipment. This is that initial layout. The chest cowl is from a Gaplant piece by Banpresto. The main part of the build was a Gundam Ultimate Operation repaint of the Gelgoog into Char’s Gelgoog.

In the midst of construction the Dengeki Primrose Escape Unit Mega Particle Cannon caught my attention as an interesting detail. I began to imagine a Mega Particle Cannon on the Stutzer rig. It could be disguised to resemble a standard Stutzer unit to lure TTT aggressors into range.

I did a bit of research at this point into Gelgoogs and realized the ReGelg hadn’t been fielded in the AoZ time frame but was in Zeta, so when was it tested? I decided in the AoZ timeline would be appropriate and went about sketching some mock ups. I came up with this Frame Shoulder Binder design.

All the white plastic is styrene. Yellow parts are from the Gundam Adapt Methuss.

This is the pre-assembly test set up. Articulation has been added to the ankles, knees, and hips. Thrusters, fuel lines and a big backpack round out the set up.

I also lengthend and reshaped the waist portion of the torso, and added power lines for the Mega Particle Cannon.

Pre-painting disarticulation. Some changes are still to come on the chest cowl. I also added some legs tanks, of course.

So here it is painted, decaled, and weathered/stressed. The cowl has been added to since the previous pic, can you see the differences?

A few more insignias get added later to round out this first view.

Good look at the back. Lots of verniers need lots of feul and coolant.

Reverse angle really shows off the cowl, no Beam Rifle in the way.

Firing position for the Mega Particle Cannon, everything gets articulation.

Another look.

Close up detail shot.

What a great, unique creation! I'm really impressed with that shoulder thruster design... looks so industrial! Great buildup pics too!

Thanks for the feedback. Next week the "In Univesrse" post is due to publish, so I better get to writing it! This may be my favorite build in this AoZ series so far. In fact it may be the most realized build i've done in a few years.
