I first became aware of the AoZ series in Dengeki around episode 4.1 so things were really in swing as far as the story was concerned. I had to go back and buy Advance of Z, The Flag of Titans Vol. 1 and 2 to catch up. It was Vol 2. that just blew me away with the Stutzer models. I immediately started thinking of how to build one.
I mainly use Bandai’s Gundam Ultimate Operation trading figure series as places to start and this build was no different. There are also elements harvested from Gundam Adapt and MSIA. This model measures 3.5 inches or 9 cm from toe tip to antennae.

The feel I was going for was “this mech has been used”. I mean really left over. The beam rifle isn’t even a Zeon design, it’s a battlefield salvage from a GP-01. The shoulder armor is missing, I felt there would be little hand to hand combat in space and even less surplus parts, so this unit has been deployed out of dire need.

The Stutzer unit is scratch built out of styrene for the most part. The Gelgoog rifle is harvested from the Elmeth of Gundam Adapt as is the generator on the back.

Added to this design are some extra fuel/coolant tanks on the legs.

A space inspired mount made more sense considering the story line.

Note the wire cutters.

Th Stutzer unit is fully articulated.

Ah, it does my heart good to see a Zaku in service. Lovin’ the old beat up look, especially the worn off paint at the edges of the armor.
