The MSN-04 Chanel was built as a “female” version of the MSN-04 Sazabi, both units were constructed at the same time but with different focuses. The Chanel features much more funnels but lacks a diffuse mega particle cannon connected directly to a mega condenser, so it’s hard to call it a 4th-
generation mobile suit. The funnel design of the two units is also different. Like the Qubeley, the Chanel features smaller tapered funnels that mount in the rear skirt. These funnels need to be recharged more often than the Sazabi’s, but they require less energy overall. In the end Char selected the Sazabi as his personal suit because he believed funnels to be a less important feature.
