This SHOULD have been Bandai's first HGUC kit, but obviously it wasn't. This is the original Gundam from MSG that we all know and love. The kit itself does a great job of outlining the greatness of this classic mobile suit. Its simple design is enhanced through the little tiny details added that we don't see in the anime. This gives the Gundam a sense of realism and proportion, which it lacked in the series. I personally think this kit makes the Gundam look better! The articulation of the Gundam is nice, featuring double-jointed ankle units and jointed shoulders like the GP-01 kit. The rifle can be posed in various ways and the double jointed shoulder allows it to fire the gun straight with the other hand on the handle. The shield can mount on the back and on the forearm and the sabers can be stored on the backpack. The sabers don't have much holding them in, so if you're not careful, they'll fall out. The nice thing about the sabers is the transparent beams that come with the kit. Most kits make you paint the swords, but this kit features two transparent blades that can be inserted into the handles. I only wish this kit came with more! It does not come with the hyper Bazooka (although I think theres a place for it on the back of this kit) or the G-Hammer. Also, there are no accessories to make the beam javelin. This Gundam comes as it is. If you really want the Gundam in all its glory, I advise you to get the HGUC #50 with the Gundam and G-Fighter. However, theres really nothing wrong with this kit.
