This is a favorite of mine among the HGUC line, and I like a lot of 'em! The Higogg is the retrocon design of the Gogg to allow for a better MSM-type in the OAV years of UC. The kit does a great adaptation of this MS, resulting in the best 1/144 MSM kit available so far.

The kit molding is spot-on with enough detail to be a panel-lining dream, or nightmare… The upper torso, shoulder, lower leg, and upper hand pieces all have very visible seam lines, and will need to be dealt with by modellers who can't abide seam lines. The booster pack can be easily attatched to its appropriate slot, and the optional misile pods just snap over the completed hand & arm sections.

Color-wise, the OAV's light blue paint scheme has been faithfully reproduced. (Panelling should be done with blue here, not black.) However, the blue is easily painted over for custom versions. (Mine is done in Gundam Green marker, further emphasizing the sea troll appearance of this MS.) The grey exposed-metal bits look fine on their own, and don't need to be painted. The orange color of the optional equipent looks very plastic, and probably needs to be re-painted for greater effect.

This one is not easy to balance, but the great flexibility of the arms and legs will make you work on the pose until something is achieved! Once again, all the claws are independently mounted, adding to the posing fun. The optional missiles, missile pods, and backpack can be added for various looks, and the arms can be shortened to gve a \”swimming mode\” appearance as well.

All in all this is a great HGUC kit, a fine MSM for the Zeon fan, OYW diorama maker, or the Gundam modeller in search of a first-rate 1/144 kit.
