This is the HGUC RGM-79 'Powered GM' from the series '0083 Stardust Memory'. This Mobile suit is featured at the very beginning of the series as a test unit fitted with an advanced thruster system being tested for the Gundam Development Project by Anahiem Electronics. It is easily one of my favorite mobile suits and definetly one of my top picks of the GM Line. This HGUC is just as good as this Mobile Suit is, and I'll display its features below.

~Head- The head unit of this Powered GM is revolutionary to the HGUC line. It's \”green screen\” camera cover actually has a detailed 'internals' part that goes behind it, putting this head's detail on par with most MG GM kits. It sits on the usual polycap neck connection but it has very good up and down movement, as the neck is actually able to move forward and back quite easily.

~Torso- the torso features the double jointed shoulder that we see so often in these newer kits. Its yellow vent slits and cockpit cover come in their respective colors so no real painting is needed.

~Backpack- This gigantic backpack MAKES this GM 'Powered', and its detailing does not fall short. It also features a beam saber hilt that can easily be accessed by the left arm.

~Arms- The arms feature the same double joint construction that we see on newer Federation HGUC kits like the Hazel and Advanced Hazel. They look spectacular and are very mobile. Be careful with their attachment between the mid-upper arm and the shoulder connection, as it will come out with too much posing. Just keep that connection flush to avoid that problem. The hands on these feature two right hands (fist for saber and trigger for weapons) and something we haven't seen since the very first HGUC (Guncannon), jointed hands. The left hand's wrist can actually move, giving it much more poseability options, like holding the bazooka, machine gun, even scratching it's own head. I've had lots of fun with this little feature.

~Legs- I actually expected more of the legs as far as their range of movement, since they basically have an internal frame to them. The double joint doesn't really help this MS's leg mobility, as it can only go about 90 degrees. The ankle consctuction too looks like it could have more mobility but the design of the legs is simply too tight to fit any more motion in. Still, these legs look fantastic and the red armor attachments from its \”powered' upgrade can come off revealing detailing underneath.

~Weapons- Basic weapons on this guy. The Bullpup from the GM Command Ground Type and Guncannon MPT as well as a 0083-esque bazooka. Nothing new here. There is, however, one beam saber which looks to be the same design as the Hazel's, but it comes with two transparent blades. I guess I shouldn't be complaining! Also, it's shield utilizes the same attachment system that the Hazel HGUCs do, so you can actually switch out Hazel Sheilds and such on the Powered. A nice feature for Model junkies like me.

~Overall/Value- This Powered GM has been showing up on Wishlists ever since the HGUC lineup started visiting 0083 mobile suits. Years later, our wishes are finally granted. I am personally so happy they made it now, as HGUC desinging has come a long way. The engineering on this kit and its sleek designing make it my favorite GM in the HGUC line-up thus far. Its colors are dead on, there is basically no painting needed to get this to look like it should. Its poseable, it has great simple options., at it looks fantastic. I do wish it came with a stand, as a Powered GM belongs in the air. Still, this kit would make a great addition to anyone's collection, as its a good build and a great looking kit.
