HGUC 082 RX-79BD-3 Blue Destiny Unit 3

A remake of the original blue destiny unit 2, this kit is virtually a color variation with the the rx-79's color and a new shield. Lets see how it fares with new gunpla releases.

Head:

This is exactly the same as the unit 02's head, except the color. The head can bend back with the help of polycaps. If you like painting your models, the exam system can be added to the eyes and forehead thing.

Torso:

Same as the unit 02. The shoulders can move up and down thanks to the help of polycaps. A backpack is included that can be removed for detail purposes.

Arms:

Almost the same as the other one, unit 03 includes a second trigger hand. Unfortunately, to put the gun in the second hand, you need to remove the gun from one hand, which causes the hand to become loose and fall apart. Unless you can tolerate falling hand parts, cement up the right hand and leave the second as a extra manipulator. Arms can move in an almost 180 degree angle, and have holes to hold the shield. Altough unlike the unit 02, it does not require stickers for the arm joints which made the arms loose if removed.

Legs:

As usual, same as the unit 02. The legs have beam saber racks that can open up for detail. It can also do the usual boosting pose with legs bent. The ankles have a rather unique feature, that allow them to bend down like the MG ver 2.0's.

Weapons:

Same old, same old. Beam rifle and saber from unit 02. sigh. The only thing original here is the shield.

Overview:

An okay kit, but much better than the first blue destiny.

Diffrent shield
Color scheme
No stickers for arm joints
Ver 2.0 knee joints
Everything else should just be unit 02's fault.
You can make it do more than a usual HGUC, but its not really worth the 1500 yen you pay for it.
