Ah, at long, long last we finally got a mass-production Gelgoog HGUC. And it’s come quite a ways from the Gelgoog Marine HGUC, I should say.

Head: Plenty of options. You have both the normal head and the C-type with a vent-snout and a secondary camera. And both heads have options with or without antenna, and for both heads, the mono-eye can be moved to wherever you like. Can move about 45 degrees to left or right, and both versions look absolutely perfect.

Torso: Surprisingly, allows for a lot of movement. The left and right skirt armor panels can move around for extra mobility with the legs, and the upper torso can tilt in any direction. All the vents are faithfully recreated and despite the movement, it’s quite stable.

Backpack: For the A-type, there’s really not much to speak of. There’s a small rack you attach to store the naginata/shield when not being held. For the C-type, the backpack is exceptional. It looks just like its MG counterpart, and fits snugly into the back attachment where one would normally put the rack to hold the shield. Good detail, and the beam cannon and thrusters have a really nice range of vertical movement.

Arms: While they can’t pose as well as some other recent HGUCs, they look how they should, and the shoulder armor can move around a good bit to put the arms in various poses. The elbow joints are a little rigid, but otherwise they’re good. The arms have options just like the head/backpack. You can either have the standard forearm jets for the A-type or the missile launcher and small shield for the C-type. They bosth use the same base connector, so you can switch between the two if you like.

Legs: Pretty great, really. The thighs/knees have a large range of movement, and while the feet are kinda constricted, they manage well enough. I think it’s also worth noting that the Gelgoog HGUC can mount on the same stand the Asshimar (and other MS IIRC) comes with.

Weapons and accessories: You have the beam rifle which is molded perfectly except for the scope, the dual-bladed beam naginata, a shield, the forearm missile launchers, and of course the back-mounted beam cannon. Or heck, you could set a ‘goog up with all of those at once if you wanted (’cept for the shield). Except for the aforementioned scope, they’re all good to go OOB.

Overall: I was amazed. Great poseability, great detail, great options. The kit is just….great. If you wanted a normal-colored Gelgoog, or were holding out for an HGUC Gelgoog Cannon, then BUY THIS. This is a great one for anyone who likes the OYW, Zeon, or MSV. This baby has plenty of options, is sturdy, and poses well. Definitely one of the better kits I’ve put together. 5/5
