Final Episode of Advance of Zeta

It’s finally here, the last photonovel episode for Advance of Zeta. Published in the the October Dengeki Hobby Magazine, the episode shows the destruction of the TR-6 Woundwort at the hands of Gabriel Zola.

Also featured is some incredible new lineart of the TR-6 Woundwort and Hazel Hyzenthlay. The RX-124 TR-6 [Inle] is a combination of previously featured TR-6 forms, the Dandelion-like form and the Fiver-like form (now officially called the Fiver II).

Also featured in this issue is a really nice looking gunpla build of the Hyzenthlay. I like this machine, but I doubt we’ll ever see an HGUC of it. Maybe Bandai will decide to pull out all the stops and give us kits for the TR-6 Woundwort High Speed Fighter form and the Hyzenthlay, with lots of mix and match goodness.

So where what will happen to AoZ now? As far as a I know the manga is still being serialized. We’ll need an Advance of Zeta Volume 6 book to collect all the magazine material published since Volume 5. But what will Dengeki Hobby Magazine do without it? There’s still a “Next Episode” caption at the end of this episode and I imagine there might be an AoZ Retrospective down the road, but after that? It seems a shame to not utilize Fujioka’s amazing design skills on a new Gundam project, and I’m sure DHM will want something to replace the draw that AoZ brought to the magazine. Some fans have joked about “Advance of ZZ” but that seems silly. Still, let’s keep out fingers crossed for another DHM/Sunrise/Bin/Fujioka collaboration!

I like the new look! The AoZ looks sweet, I gotta start from the begining someday. Either that, or they need to start production of an animated series. Move the resources from that travesty called 00....

yes, what little promise OO had seems to have been flushed with the latest enemy MS designs they released. Yuck. If you decide to really hunker down and figure out AoZ using this site, let me know how it goes, what kind of "holes" are in the knowledge base.

OO looks like the enemy mechs were drawn in a rush. though the sniper was a bit unique, all the others were just weird, like virtue? what was bandai thinking?
